Best of both worlds! Overberg and Overstrand is a region that stretches along the coasts with beautiful beaches, and over mountain ranges with interesting geological formations. The Overberg region is blessed with remarkable floral variety. It is covered with fynbos, characterised by proteas, erica’s, there’s an abundant birdlife here. The area offers many walking and hiking experiences. The best flower displays usually occur from August to mid-October. The rich history of the Overberg is depicted in books, century of family stories, museums, some of which occupy an entire village, such as Elim, and the Shipwreck museum in Bredasdorp. From August to October the Overberg is a breath-taking experience, the canola is in full bloom, the green wheat fields are overwhelming! The deep blue waters of the ocean hide the big 5- Whale, Dolphin, Cape fur seal, Penguins and Great White.
